This black and white photograph features Maureen Te Rangi Rere I Waho Waaka (nee Kingi) as Miss New Zealand in 1962. She wears a white Grecian influenced evening gown handmade by Peg Wilson who crocheted diagonal bands of tassels to look like piupiu. Maureen began the demanding Miss New Zealand pre-pageant road trip with this one gown.
